Magic
I can't believe how the heck Lionel Messi did it. Seriously. I thought Maradona's goal was the best goal ever scored and guess what after I saw Lionel Messi's goal? Lol Maradona's goal still number one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UvrA7L-CEY

That's the link to Lionel Messi's goal. Watch it. It's simply breathtaking. First he just flicks the ball away from the defender then he nutmegts another one. And watch the acceleration. No way is he slower than Cristiano Ronaldo. Then the last part outside the box watch how he cuts the two defenders and fools the keeper. And you wonder why they compare it to Maradona's goal.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kdw9WDz3UNo&NR=1

This is a link to a video comparing Lionel Messi's goal to Diego Maradona's goal in Mexico 1986. Watch Maradona's turn. He turned 2 defenders. With his back to them. That is pure magic, seriously. He couldn't even see how they were going to react. At least Messi could see them head-on. Then watch how Maradona feigns left and right and wrong-foots the defenders. And the finish is impeccable.

Isn't it amazing how magic still exists in this world?

Uh don't take into account the small, cute, hot girl I saw today.

IPPT/NAPFA
IPPT/NAPFA

i remember that a few weeks ago there was this article in the ST about fit people who were unable to jump and i felt that some points that the article raised made sense. oh wells and apparently mindef had a response defending the test.

NS40
Am I Not Fit Enough?

Lol...apparently u need to pass standing broad jump to be able to escape from enemies fire. =X okok it measures ur lower limbs' explosive power but like many PE teachers had conceded, SBJ is nothing about power and everything about technique so any better alternatives?

alrighty 5 cm more yah. Working hard!

United Square is the mall with more. Hoho I just whiled away the whole day today. Fantastic. Went to KAP after school to meet Bryan and Marcus. Supposed to study but obviously we didn't. Bryan did though, a little anyway. Plus I found out that my earphones are busted - one of the wires came out.

Anyway being the guillible idiot that I am, I was tricked into going to United Square with them on the pretext of teaching Marcus Chem. Anyway whatever The Learning Lab is pretty cool although the staff there are mostly rigid rule-following robots. Kena questioned by one of them for hanging around in the rooms. The rooms are like prison cells, super small and only furnished with some small tables. So why do I still say that Learning Lab is decent?

Some of the girls who go there are hot. I saw this CHIJ girl (but not St Nick's) whom I thought was pretty cool. Nice figure, pretty face and short skirt. Yay. Bryan and Marcus disagreed with me though and thought she was kinda fat.

Anyway I've wasted the whole day away. Now this simply can't go on. Econs, GP, Maths, Civics and Chem tomorrow. How positively exciting. And anyone wants to go Queensway to look at shoes?

Nostalgia
Actually I got no idea what the blog title means. 'That's life.' What's life?

I've been going to Linus' church and meeting his cell group leader or something Jianhong. Uh yes don't be shocked lol. Jianhong's a pretty nice guy I guess and he takes time to explain all the stuff about Christianity to me. Anyway I don't really quite grasp the idea of Christianity. Basically Christianity is the route to eternal life. Uh but what if you don't want eternal life? If human life is so fraught with stress what's the point of living forever and ever. It doesn't raelly make much sense does it? No offence to Christianity and Chistians though.

Ok I'm listening to 'Yi Ge Xiang Xia Tian Yi Ge Xiang Qiu Tian' by Fan Wei Qi now. The song reminds me of things from the past. Not sure whether to feel happy or sad. I got the song from Mervin Ang some time back. Anyway songs really do change your mood. Sad songs make you feel sad when you are sad. Fast songs temporarily distract you from the swirling abyss of fluxed feelings.

When you tear away all the packaging and impressions, you will realise that Chinese songs are still best. Of course, that depends on what kind of songs you were first exposed to. I've been listening to Chinese songs for the longest time since I was a small little kid and they have this weird, tranquil and calm effect on me. It's like all of a sudden all my worries and troubles and doubts get swept away to the back of my mind and I get a flashback to my kiddy days. Seriously. I still remember very vividly the days when I was a puny little boy trying to run up the slope instead of climbing the steps to my grandfather's old house in the old block of flats. That row of flats has since been torn down to make way for some condo. If I could I would have bought that row of old flats.

Anyway back to some current news. Why did that guy kill 32 students? I mean it doesn't make much sense for him to kill random people even if he really was a lonesome guy who was angry at a lot of stuff. It doesn't seem right to take it out on people who are leading decent lives.

Anyway just a little piece of information - if a guy decided to rampage RJC and he comes by the main gate, the first class that is going to get hit is 07s06s. Then it's going to be 07s07a. And guess who sits closest to the door? Of course, this assumed killer could come through RI, in which the unfortunate people would be those in B21. He could also come through the canteen gate. Well yah.

Now to completely make this post a random piece of junk, I shall conclude by adding that I think a girl who is 1/2 Chinese, 1/4 Caucasian and 1/4 Malay with nice physical attributes would be quite gorgeous.

Friday the 13th

oh wells the title isnt actually related to this post at all except that today is friday the 13th and erms i am going to blog about today.

so today started with the wonderful napfa test that i missed silver by 5 cm. passed the rest la....hais....Nvm there's always the re-test! =S

The two tutorials that followed zoomed past as if they never took place. And there you go, PW results released! And being the responsible and NICE PW rep i went to collect the results lar. Ok, looking at phang's previous post, i shant elaborate on PW anymore (lest i anger him =S) except that i got an A! and that SO3J is some IMBA class that got 16 As in total! Whoosh. Well done guys!

Yah. Den came loads of chem. Chem remedial followed by H3 Chem...was dizzy by H3 chem after all that took place in the morning. And thanks joyce for your nudging and water, if not i would have slept through the whole lecture =X

so after chem lecture i had 2 hours to spare before raffles rock concert, 2 hrs 13 min to be exact. So went to s-11 to eat. Alone. Zhaomeng and Rachel, who are attending the concert with me have not reached so ya alone. I vaguely remembered Ms Uma mentioning something like she enjoys having meals alone, and today i finally comprehended what she meant. While eating the fried carrot cake, i began thinking about all that happened earlier in the day.

And maybe coz i met and talked to Ms Lim si hui (rico teacher i/c) at the road junction, i started reminiscing the past experiences i had in rico too, i must say some are really unforgettable. Oh wells, i guess sometimes we should really try to squeeze out some time out of our miserablely-insufficient 24 hrs a day to reflect on our lives and be thankful for what others have done for us.

But having said all that, I do enjoy meals with friends still ya....

Okays...walked ard at j8 for a while then met zhaomeng and rachel and it was rock concert. Some songs they performed were really nice and i especially liked Jiahua's segment, nice blend of rock and erms humour...haha really funny. Was quite impressed with the rock-styled Canon in D too!

Yah so that ends my Friday the 13th. ....April 2007....

Where got sell nice shoes at nice prices? Like cannot find like that. I'm looking for aasics casual shoes, the type with pretty thick soles aha not the thin Onitsuka kind that Michelle Chee has. Lol anyway her shoes are quite pretty got some gold flower motif thing aha suits her I guess.

Anyway shoes aren't going to stop me from getting irritated. PW. Project Work is a piece of crap. It's a bloody waste of time. You think we all really enjoy freaking group meetings at each other's houses just to spend time churning up nonsense which you call research? You think Project Work was fun? Well actually it was. Aha. Surprise. Well actually it wasn't really. It was just fine I guess.

Ok actually I'm angry with the intellectually-restricted fools who graded me for PW. My oral presentation was apparently not good, since I was not making significant eye contact and shifting around from left to right. My stars, they certainly must have been making significant eye contact with me to notice that I wasn't making eye contact with them. Plus, why don't they try standing up for five minutes without moving. Maybe that way their criticism would have been slightly more justified. Oh yah and did I mention that my pace was apparently too fast for the judges to comprehend what in the world was I talking about? No? Well the problem wasn't with my pace. If they wanted a slow pace, maybe they should see how I read aloud in class. That is called slow.

168 dollars for appeal eh. So what are you going to do, take the piece of paper, flip through it for two minutes and then sign against it to show that you've re-evaluated the report and found that there isn't any cause for appealing? Well thanks pal, you sure are well worth the taxpayers' money.

For everyone who got a B.

Peace.

I've been thinking. What is the purpose of life? Why do we exist?

A person is born as a baby. He learns to eat, sleep, crawl and make noise. Later on he becomes a toddler. Then he starts to walk and make even more noise. Then he becomes a kid and starts chattering non-stop and continually does things which irritate his parents. Then he becomes a teenager and then an adolescent and then an adult.

What are we supposed to do with our lives? It's intriguing really to see how intertwined the whole world is, how everyone's lives overlap and how things here affect things there. However, that does not change the question? Why are we studying so hard now? To get grades? One's grades are nothing more than a drop in the ocean, a minute small trivia that barely affects the world. Why do people work so hard? Is it because they need to make a living and bring home the bread and butter to feed their family members whom they care so much about? Yet, we are all going to vanish someday.

Maybe you say you want to make a difference in the world. Like invent some new super machine that has goodness-knows-what capablities. Assume that you get your wish and that you really change the lives of others for the better. Does it really matter that much?

Emptiness.

Overwhelmed

Seniors all say J2 life is hell. I am finally willing to admit that ya, they are right. I guess the title says it all. I am feeling more and more overwhelmed by everything that has to be done with every passing day, and the tons of deadlines there is to be met, while the workload just continues piling up. I swear that i have been more diligent this year than last year and MUCH MUCH MUCH more hardworking than in Sec4. but it seems like it is not enough.

Just 1 long weekend, and all the subject tutors think we have wat...another March Holidays???

Ok. Back to work.

Public holiday. Yay. Don't we all like public holidays? Today I went to Lim Min's and Longkuan's church for their service. I guess all churches have something on Good Friday. Well the choir in the church was singing a lot. Well it was ok I guess. A little uninteresting but well then again no one ever said that churches promise a blast of a time.

Anyway there were quite a few pretty girls at church. Ok not quite a few. More like quite a lot. And there were hundreds of people there. Lim Min was sitting next to this girl who was hot. Well she probably didn't really care but whatever. Anyway some Christian songs are cool. I like the song 'Majesty', it sounds nice.

Anyway church ended at 1230. After that Longkuan and I went over to Dhobby Gaut for lunch. We met Linus and we went bowling. Actually Longkuan and I arrived well earlier than Linus and so we went to bowl first.

Longkuan is some bowling boss. The way he throws the balls may look a little clumsy but his shots all quite good ok. Like cannonballs like that. He got 11 strikes in 4 games. That's about 3 strikes a game. Which is good for someone using a house ball and not even in bowling.

Anyway it was quite amusing to see Longkuan and Linus bowl because their finishing positions were quite funny. Got one time I bowled and then slipped and ended up in a cool position with a knee on the floor. Anyway my bowling is pretty lousy. Bowl 3 games tired already.

I should get Ann to teach me how to bowl haha yes this is a good idea.

Nonsense
Lol Channel 5 sometimes produces decent shows. Parental Guidance is one of them. The only word which can effectively sum up the show is nonsense. It is nonsense disguised as intellect. It is the very epitome of intellectual nonsense. I like.

Adrian Pang is king. The scriptwriter also. The way Adrian Pang talks is exactly like a refined, cultured, educated, high-class ah beng. Cool stuff. Instead of swearing and making gestures, he insinuates his insults via words. Not vulgar words. Just comprehensible sentences. Plus he has all the beng stuff on also. He drinks, makes stupid comments and does dumb things. Role model.

Stefanie Sun

haha ok...finally got back all the ct results...nothing really worthy of any praise, even self-praise, except maybe a B in GP. the rest are.....

oh wells...one of my favourite mandopop singers Stefanie Sun finally came back with her new album. All that buzz about her misfortunes in Eygpt has definitely generated a lot of hype for this album but of course the new song tracks rock too... :) as usual. and here is the music video of my favourites. (koped from youtube) and hope u guys would like it too. she's not really gorgeous or anywhere close to gorgeous in the video but her voice...it's just amazing.

ok enough of praising her up to the skies. erms...and youtube loading speed quite slow ar so juz wait for it to finish loading?

Wanted to write a longer post but 1st time trying out putting a video into the blog so took damn long...n there's still school tmr =S ya so cya guys

wow...juz realized phang blogged today too...so Double Post for today yay! --

Facts Of Life
Wow it's Phang back with another great post to brighten up your day. Congratulations.

EVER BEEN GIVEN AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
No.

LONGEST RELATIONSHIP?
How about none.

LAST GIFT YOU RECEIVED?
Don't remember. Does my heart count. Ok that was a lousy attempt at being nice and sweet and romantic and totally unlike myself but it's quite pointless since I don't think the intended person is going to be reading this anyway.

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU WORKED OUT?
If you mean exercising I guess it would be cycling. Didn't go too far with Chew Zhaoying. Will attempt to cover the west side of Singapore soon.

THING(S) YOU SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON?
Things to eat. Stall 2 is a rip-off. I should get a V.I.P card or something how the heck can they charge 1 dollar for a sandwich or toast it does not even make sense what the heck i say 50 cents is more than enough plus why are the chocolates so expensive? Is the high price suppose to reduce consumer demand or are they just being money-grubbers.

LAST FOOD YOU ATE?
Not sure but I'm pretty sure everything is now mush.

FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT THE OPPOSITE SEX?
Actually I notice many things. First the face. See whether pretty or not. Then after that the physical structure. I like girls who are less than 160cm because they are under the 'cute category'. A girl can only be cute if she is less than 160cm. Yay. And cute girls are cute.

HIGH SCHOOL YOU ATTENDED:
RJC. Actually I regret not going to Hwa Chong but crap. I should have gone Hwa Chong instead. Ok remember you didn't see this part of the post.

FAVORITE MALL/STORE:
Far East Plaza.

LAST TIME YOU SAW A HOT GIRL:
Actually that depends. It really depends because some girls are hot and some girls are cute and some are hot and cute. Now don't ask me how the last option is possible because I am pretty darn sure that my explanation is going to take more than half an hour to write and I'm pretty sure you don't want to know anyway. Uh I could of course shorten the thesis with a few examples but then again better not. Anyway cannot because I don't know any cute hot girls. Some from HC though. Anyway back to the question. When was the last time I saw a hot girl. Well it was this morning. The girl was pretty cute and darn hot. Uh yah she is 160cm I guess and with a hot figure to boot. Well actually some of you might think she is fat but actually I just think she is proportionately sculpted. Did I mention she has hot legs too. Uh ok. Hwa Chong JC. Oh yes I saw this darn cute girl (not from HC) also but I don't think I'll elaborate on it because the question is asking for a hot girl.

CAN YOU SING?
Maybe.

WHO SLEEPS WITH YOU EVERY NIGHT?:
If this was rephrased as 'who would you like to sleep with you every night' I would have a lot more to say but too bad.

LAST TIME YOU LAUGHED AT SOMETHING STUPID?
Well I laughed at Linus not long ago.

TELL ME A RANDOM FACT ABOUT YOURSELF:
Shoes are the best. Ok not shoes. Footwear. Sandals, slippers, boots, shoes and everything to boot. Hmm ok let's talk about footwear. Shoes are good. Vans has cool slip-ons but the cutting doesn't suit me. Suede sneakers are my favourite. Ok not practical but heck the texture is nice. Etnies or Vans. Preferably Etnies. Canvas shoes not bad also. Converse has decent footwear. Nike. Well Nike's football boots own. Total 90, Tiempo and Mercurial Series. Much better than Adidas' +10, +20, +30 and things like that. And guess who produces the best slippers/sandals. Yes it's Birkenstock. Ok maybe the price is ridiculous and many people wear it but you have to admit that the design is classic.

Actually this trivia crap was 50 plus questions long but I trimmed it. Yay for me. Yay.
