As can be seen from the tagboard, my application for a girlfriend has not been going well at al. A total of 3 people have applied, namely Linus, Longkuan and Jie Liang. Zzz. Well, it appears that I'm going to have to employ some new tactics if I want to get the required results.
Advertising, as you all may or may not know, is but one form of product differentiation. And where does product differentiation come in? In monopolistic competition! Here, there is a relatively large number of buyers and sellers (boys and girls) in the industry. How do MPC firms compete? Using non-price competition of course! Let's elaborate on the different techniques used for product differentiation below but first, the rationale for product differentiation.
Product differentiation not only convinces consumers to buy that good (girls to apply) but also encourages brand loyalty. (have a long-lasting relationship)
Changing the nature of products - MPC firms tend to differentiate their products by changing their function or making alterations to the common product. Well, I'm that damn good. Hah.
Changing sale conditions - Firms can change their sale conditions, such as service attitude. Well, in case you all haven't noticed, I'm a really nice person.
Oh yah, just because an MPC firm is in an MPC industry, that dosen't mean that it cannot employ tactics used by monopolies. A monopoly engages in something damn cool, called eliminating your competitors. Hah!
